The College of Media and International Culture at Zhejiang University (CMIC) was established in 2006. Its Department of Journalism, founded in 1958, is one of the earliest journalism education departments in China. The College is ranked A+ by the 2022 China Subject Ratings of THE World University Rankings. The College has established a complete bachelor, master, and doctoral education system with courses offered in both Chinese and English.
We are interested in candidates who have expertise in one or more of the following areas:Journalism, Communication, Radio and Television Art, Film Studies, Advertising, Public Relations, Aesthetics, Cultural Studies, Data Science, Linguistics, Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, and other related interdisciplinary studies.
2. Full-time Positions
Responsibilities:
Candidates should achieve national or international prominence and a distinguished reputation within his or her chosen field through significant contributions to academic work. They should also have outstanding leadership and service to the profession. Candidates should be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate, maintain an active research agenda, produce world-class research outputs, and acquire competitive external funding.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD degree in above mentioned areas, hold a position of Associate Professor or above, have a solid track record of research publications in reputable communication and/or other social science journals, and under the age of 60.
Remuneration:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences. Benefits package, including housing subsidy and start-up fund, will be offered.
Full Professor/Associate Professor
Responsibilities:
Candidates should establish him/herself as a major researcher, scholar, or creative artist at the national and often international level. Candidates should be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate, maintain an active research agenda, produce world-class research outputs, and acquire competitive external funding.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD degree in above mentioned areas, hold a position of tenured Associate Professor or above, have a solid track record of research publications in reputable communication and/or other social science journals, and under the age of 60.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences. Benefits package, including housing subsidy and start-up fund, will be offered.
Tenure-track Assistant Professor
Responsibilities:
Candidates should be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, maintain an active research agenda, produce quality research outputs, and acquire competitive external funding. Qualified candidates will be promoted to tenured Associate Professor within six years.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD degree in above mentioned areas, have a proven or strongly emerging track record of high quality research publications, and under the age of 40.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits package, including housing subsidy and start-up fund, will be offered.
Postdoc Positions
Qualifications:
Candidates must have recently earned a PhD degree in above mentioned areas, under the age of 35, and work full-time in the college.
Remuneration:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
3. Non-Full-time Positions
Visiting Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor
Responsibilities:
Candidates should be able to work at ZJU forat least 2 months annually, as well as to teach undergraduate and/or graduate course(s) in English.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD degree in above mentioned areas, hold a corresponding position, have a strong teaching record in related areas, and under the age of 60.
Remuneration:
Salary will be paid based upon the actual work load at ZJU.
