On November 16, 2018, the 4th China Television Research Conference was held at the Huabei Hotel in Hangzhou. The conference was co-organized by the Media and International Culture College of Zhejiang University, the Communication College of East China Normal University and the National Communication Innovation Center of Communication University of China. As the host of this conference, the College of Media and International culture of Zhejiang University invited numerous experts and scholars to discuss the theme of “The Television Development In the Era of Intelligent Media”.
WANG Qingwen, The Vice Dean of the College of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University and YING Biao, the Minister of Publicity Department of Zhejiang University Party Committee made the opening remarks.
ZHAO Yu, the Assistant Dean of the College of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University, chaired the conference. LV Xinyu ( the Dean of Communication College of East China Normal University), LIU Yannan (the Director of the Center for Audience Research of Communication University of China), WU Fei ( the Vice President of College of Computer Science and Technology of Zhejiang University) and another WU Fei (the Qiushi Special Professor of the College of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University ) gave lectures on audience research, artificial intelligence, computable sociology, short video and communication ethics from the perspectives of media convergence and political economy of communication.
Subsequently, DING Mai, the general manager of China Satellite TV Sophomore Media Research, ZHOU Dongmei, the deputy director of Zhejiang Satellite TV, ZHANG Yiwen, the director of Today's Headline and other top industry guests delivered speeches respectively on the application of smart terminal big data in rating measurement, the innovation of the TV entertainment program during the media-convergence age and the penetration of artificial intelligence of the broadcasting and television media.
In the afternoon, two paralleling forums were held at the same time with themes on “The Structural Issues and Resolution Paths of China's TV Development” and on “China TV in the Age of Intelligent Media” respectively. Besides, there was also the second media culture workshop of Tongji University, Zhejiang University and Suchow University. In-depth discussion were triggered on Algorithm Ethics and Media Society.
From 3:30 to 5:30 pm that afternoon, the Industry Roundtable Conference of the 4th China TV Research Annual Conference was held at the Conference Center on the first floor of the Huabei Hotel. Industry elites such as Zhejiang Satellite TV, Hexin Media, Weizhong Media,the Oriental Pearl New Media and so on reacted to the hot topics and focused on issues such as attracting young audiences, media product iteration, high-quality entertainment and the formation of a healthy audiovisual market.
